Welcome to my world of storytelling.
From a young age, Rebecca carried a deep love for both animals and storytelling. Her adventures as a child, traveling with her family, and later her journey of faith, shaped the way she saw the world—with wonder, compassion, and hope. Writing became her way of sharing those values, weaving timeless lessons of courage, kindness, and faith into stories children can hold onto for life.
“Through Mercy’s story, my prayer is that children not only enjoy a heartwarming adventure, but also discover lessons of courage, kindness, and faith that will stay with them for life.”
Rebecca is the author of her first two children’s books, Rescued and Mercy’s New Home, written with young readers in mind. Through her stories, she seeks to touch the hearts of children by sharing timeless lessons of love, forgiveness, friendship, courage, and kindness. Her desire is that children connect with her characters, find encouragement, and know they are never alone in their struggles.
Since childhood, Rebecca has had a deep love for animals. In 2011, she founded Mercy’s Hope, a North Carolina non-profit horse rescue, where she has cared for and rehomed countless animals—including horses, pets, and even wildlife. This passion for caring and giving also shines through her writing, where her characters often embody hope, healing, and second chances.
Rebecca’s sense of adventure has taken her many places—first traveling with her parents as a child, and later with her own family. Her experiences have shaped her stories, making them relatable, heartfelt, and filled with wonder. In 1991, Rebecca accepted Jesus as her personal Savior, and since then she has carried a special love for children in her heart. She has faithfully attended church throughout her life, teaching Sunday school, children’s church, and leading classes for women. She also served as Assistant Director of Children’s Church, head of the missionary department, sang in the choir, and helped in the nursery.
God has blessed Rebecca with two stepdaughters and three grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews. Today, she celebrates five generations within her family, proudly carrying the role of “Great-Great Aunt”—a title she cherishes and playfully reminds others makes her truly “Great.”
Her mission as an author is simple yet powerful: to write stories that not only entertain but also meet a real need in a child’s life. Through her characters, she hopes children will discover encouragement, faith, and the courage to overcome challenges.
